The Peterson Brothers: “I Gotta Go” (Live In Studio 1A)

Trying to get motivated to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time? The Peterson Brothers may be just what you need.

Though bassist-vocalist Alex Peterson (17) and lead guitarist-vocalist Glenn Peterson Jr. (20) are now college-age, they’ve already lived a lifetime of music. The Austin-based brothers began playing music together at a young age and by the time the elder, Glenn, was 15, they were already performing onstage with the legendary Buddy Guy. Over their short yet expansive musical career they’ve opened for Gary Clark Jr., Los Lonely Boys, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Lisa Marie Presley, and others.

Though blues is the Peterson Brothers’ bread and butter, they also incorporate elements of soul and funk into their classic covers, alongside energetic originals interspersed throughout their live set. Backed by drummer Chris Mead, the Peterson Brothers Band is set to record a live album, most likely at the Continental Club where their weekly residency is on Monday nights. “I Gotta Go” – an original tune – showcases the confidence, skill and overall easygoing blues bravado that make the Peterson Brothers so much fun to listen to.
