The Peterson Brothers: “Tell Me Everything” (Live in Studio 1A)

As Glenn Peterson and his younger brother Alex approach milestone ages (21 and 18, respectively), one thing certainly hasn’t changed during the transformative period of their lives: a shared love of live blues musical performance. Already seasoned veterans of the Austin music scene, The Peterson Brothers have made a brag-worthy name for themselves in their young career, having opened for acts like B.B. King, Willie Nelson and Gary Clark Jr., performed alongside the legendary Buddy Guy, and gained notable attention from Bootsy Collins.

Joined by Chris Meed on drums, Glenn Jr. (guitar/lead vocals) and Alex (bass/vocals) have time and time again proven that the contagious kinetic energy of blues-soul can get even the most mild-mannered listener on their feet in the heat of the moment. Though you can always treat yourself to The Peterson Brothers at home via their self-titled full-length album or their live recordings, they’re best experienced in-person, where you really get to see their undeniable sense of showmanship. Matching outfits and never-drooping smiles keep the audience engaged in sets that alternate between classic blues standards and toe-tapping originals. “Tell Me Everything” highlights The Peterson Brothers’ show-stealing confidence and mastery of dynamic range in a five-and-a-half minute blues blowout.

You can see The Peterson Brothers Thursday night at Old Settler’s Music Festival or most Mondays as part of their residency at the Continental Club.
