tiny deaths is a Minneapolis/Brooklyn duo made up of singer Claire de Lune and producer Grant Cutler. After releasing a pair of EPs the past two years, the group is readying a debut album that collects some of their older work and pairs it with newer songs like “Wrong.” This is a band that works really well on a small scale. The ingredients on “Wrong” are subtle: programmed, snappy drums, synth washes, and crystalline guitar. De Lune’s smeared voice floats above it all, perfect for a song about rising above the past, admitting faults, and achieving some well-earned peace.
“Wrong” appears on Elegies, out February 2.
