From an 80-acre farm in Bearden, Oklahoma, comes musician and songwriter, John Fullbright. Growing up,  he learned to play the at the age of five, later on learning to play the guitar and harmonica as well. His Album From the Ground Up pays homage to the farm house where he grew up, “Every song on this record was written in that house, and I was kind of written in that house.” This album peaked at #10 on the Billboard Top Folk Albums chart for thhe week of June 9, 2012. And later on that year on it was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Americana Album, to top that off Fullbrigt was also awarded the ASCAP Harold Adamson Lyric Award at the 17th Annual ASCAP Foundation Awards Ceremony. Fullbright’s new album Songs was released this May; and this collection of simple songs, are a reflection of Fullbright’s life after From the Ground Up. We can see how in the song “Going Home” as it shows his appreciation for the simple pleasure of heading back to Oklahoma. Over all his new album makes both Fullbright and his fans “happy” like the name of the first song in the album.
