Canadian-American musician Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of this generation through his genuine originality and ever-changing dynamism. In addition to being a coveted voice in contemporary pop, the singer-songwriter has made a name for himself in the classical world through his original operas, Prima Donna and Hadrian. Wainwright has received numerous awards for his extensive discography, earning the visionary collaborations with Elton John, David Byrne, Boy George, Joni Mitchell, Pet Shop Boys, and Mark Ronson. Now, Wainwright is riding high on the release of his first single since 2016, “Trouble in Paradise.” This song attests to Wainwright’s constant creativity, using solid pop rock production to describe the inner mind of a golden-age fashionista on her drive from the town to the countryside.

KUTX host Jody Denberg and the KUTX crew did a special session at the singer-songwriters soundcheck at the Paramount before his show, “Oh Solo Wainwright.” Check out the exclusive performance below!
