This year’s Song Confessional Confession Call was so rich with submissions that Walker and Zac picked two winners. Austin duo Other Vessels responded to the call, a confession that was more about invaluable, selfless advice imparted by their father: when death’s shadow threatens to darken your doorstep, fight like hell, but when the knock comes, acceptance isn’t weakness, but a different way of strength for those you’ll be leaving behind. A way to begin the healing before you’re gone.
Indie alt-pop duo Other Vessels’ submission is a soft, introspective love letter response to the confession, employing delicate and minimalist instrumentation to give center stage to tender and thoughtful lyrics on “Good Advice.”
