Mouthing the phrase “God, I hate Mondays” comes naturally to most- especially if you’re young Beaumont local, Teezo Touchdown.

Touchdown’s latest single “Familiarity” finds himself reflecting back on his rather familiar origin story of trying to pull ends together to do what you love vs what’s expected of you. Teezo reminisced to Afro-Punk magazine saying that, “Everyone’s journey starts somewhere. My journey started with me cleaning a filthy bathroom with a smile on my face because I knew that my music would take me to places that I could never imagine.” Now past that stage in life, the pop-punk hip-hop infused artist spends his days recording with artists such as Don Toliver, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, and even collaborated on Tyler, the Creator’s latest album “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST.”

“I believe in aliens, I don’t believe in luck” is the line that drew me in to Teezo Touchdown’s new single ‘Familiarity.’ Not that I believe in aliens, but because of the goofy and endearing way Mr. Touchdown delivers such a bizarre line. He loves Prince and Rick James which is all I needed to know. Oh, and he isn’t from outer space, but rather, Beaumont, Texas.”
