Beach Slang Severs Ties with Guitarist Over Sexual Assault Allegations

Hours before they were set to play their first show on their tour backing their new album A Loud Bash of Teenage Feelings Philly’s Beach Slang announced that it ‘s parting ways with their guitarist Rueben Gallego over sexual assault allegations tied to him. According to Gallego the incident in question happened about four years ago, but alleges that he and the you woman accusing him simply have two ideas of what happened that night. In a statement from the reaming members of Beach Slang, the band declares that while they would like to believe in Gallego’s innocence, they tend to believe the survivors of sexual assault and are standing by that affirmation. Beach Slang has also decided to donate a large portion of their tour proceeds to RAINN, the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network; a tour that will now feature frontman James Alex performing a solo acoustic set as Quiet Slang. Sound on Sound Fest Announces Bill for Pre-fest Late Knight

Sound on Sound Fest has announced its series of late night shows (aptly named Late Knights) that will take place at 5 Red River Cultural District venues in Austin on Thursday night, November 3rd. You can find the full bill below. All of the shows are free and open to any and all badgeholders, with VIP holders having priority access. (Culture Map)
