Prince Dead at 57
Just days after making an appearance at the Paisley Park After Dark dance party, legendary musician and pop culture icon Prince has died. Prince showed-up to the dance party last Saturday to show his thanks and appreciation for the great weather and love and support he received while being hospitalized for 3 days due to the flu. Prince was 57. In addition to peppering-in extra Prince songs over the next few days, KUTX will be celebrating the life and works of Prince for four hours tomorrow night at 7 on Left of the Dial with Rick McNulty.
You Can’t Pull the Wool Over These Eagles’ Eyes
Joe Walsh pulled out of an Ohio concert scheduled for July 18th when he learned that the show he was originally told was a nonpartisan benefit concert for the families of veterans turned out to be the launch party for the Republican National convention. Still thinking he might do the show for charitable reasons, the Eagles’ guitarist finally felt compelled to withdraw from the show when he learned that his name would be used to raise dollars for “convention-related purposes.” Walsh has said that he will return to Ohio to perform the benefit concert he assumed he was playing later in the year.
Baby Boomer Rock Megafest for October
Roger Daltrey has confirmed a festival unofficially being called a “megafest” in October of this Year. The festival, produced by Coachella and taking place at the same location, is set to feature The Who, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, and Roger Waters.
