Grammy Museum Announces X Exhibit

The Grammy Museum has announced a new exhibit saluting the 40-year career of L.A. punk band X. “X: 40 Years of Punk in Los Angeles” will run through February 25th of next year, and showcase both the band’s music and their impact on the L.A. music scene. The exhibit will include clothing, photos, handwritten lyrics, instruments, artwork, and other personal items from Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake. The four members were floored, honored, and humbled by the announcement, adding their gratitude that “all four original members are here to celebrate and share our history and 40th anniversary.” “X: 40 Years of Punk in Los Angeles” opens on June 30th.

Amazon Launches London Concert Series for Prime Members

Amazon is determined to get the entire world Primed, apparently even if they have to start a music series for Prime members to do so. Amazon is launching a concert series in the U.K. called Prime Live Events. The shows take place in London between May and July in historic venues like Round Chapel, Porchester Hall, and Cadogan Hall, giving the opportunity to see big-name acts like Blondie in intimate, historic spaces. Amazon hopes non-Prime members will be encouraged to sign up for the service just to have the opportunity to get tickets. The company has previously dabbled in the ticket-selling business for events like Elton John, Wicked, and the Book of Mormon. No events have been planned outside of London, though Amazon has inferred that that won’t be the case for long, as they look to expand Amazon Tickets.
