Remembering Grandaddy Bassist Kevin Garcia

Grandaddy co-founder and bassist Kevin Garcia passed away Monday night after suffering a massive stroke. Garcia formed Grandaddy in 1992 at the age of 15 along with singer/guitarist Jason Lytle and drummer Aaron Burtch, later rounding out the band and releasing four studio albums between 1997 and 2006. Following a six-year hiatus, the group reunited for a string of shows in 2012, and have remained active ever since, releasing their first album in over a decade just last month. The band emoted over Garcia’s place in their lives, and said they will release more information in the coming days. Kevin Garcia was 41.
