Sound on Sound Lowers Camping Fees

Hear ye, hear ye, the inaugural Sound on Sound Festival has slashed its camping prices. Last week the lineup and location for Sound on Sound was announced, and many who were thrilled to learn about the camping option soon had their enthusiasm zapped when the sticker price for a 3-day camping pass meant tacking on an extra $300 on top of the price for festival admission. Margin Walker (the production company behind the festival) has responded to the overwhelming negative feedback by dropping the daily camping process from $99 to $75 (plus about $12 in taxes and fees). For those who are still reluctant, but are worried about making the nearly hour-long drive, later this week Sound on Sound will be making an announcement about shuttles to the site.

Austin Chronicle Does Just That with “Worst Tour Stories Ever” from Austin Artists

In celebration of summer and traeling, the Austin Chronicle released a set of articles yesterday entitled “Worst Tour Stories Ever.” Each article features an Austin group or artist and is penned by one of its members. We won’t spoil any of the stories for you (they’re all pretty terrific), but you can go read about “the worst” from Asleep at the Wheel, Shakey Graves, the Black Angels, Mother Falcon, Grupo Fantasma and more.
