The Austin Music Minute cannot emphasize enough the importance of the work that the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) does. HAAM provides access to affordable health care for local uninsured working musicians, with a focus on preventive care and wellness.
Think about it. Music is what put Austin on the map, and HAAM is there to keep it going with help from you. Today is HAAM Benefit Day, a nationally-recognized citywide live music celebration in which local restaurants, shops and venues donate 5% of their proceeds to HAAM. You can visit the HAAM website for a list of participating businesses, and the huge list of performing bands and songwriters you can see throughout the day and tonight. Today’s featured AMM band, Magna Carda, is playing tonight at Holy Mountain, 617 E. 7th St., with Riders Against the Storm, Roxy Roca, The Nightowls and KP & The Boom Boom.
