The fusion of styles and seemingly impetuous melodic shifts on Kendra Sells‘ incredible solo debut EP, All In Your Head, is a study in intuitive motion. All these thoughts leaping about at once that, though not necessarily smoothly connected, have an undeniably natural flow. Sells brings a few jazz vibes from their time in Austin alt.-neo soul band BluMoon, with layers of multiple pop beats, dreamy grooves, and twists and turns in every direction. And all of this from Sells’ time during last year’s quarantine, which offered plenty of reflective moments directing them toward what they wanted to achieve as an artist.
