Perhaps your list of holiday party invites is a mile long this year. Or, maybe you haven’t made any plans at all. Either way, this one needs to be on your radar.
Bring on the moves/and grooves/to make the season pleasin’/and your reason/for dancin’ tonight/making spirits bright/with all the party lights/doin’ the holiday party right.
Jingle all the way. This is The Holiday Groove, one gargantuan celebration set to tear the room down tonight at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St. The party boasts an all-star line-up of several up-and-coming artists in blues, soul, R&B, hip-hop, funk and beyond. Leading the way is the Austin Groove Project, a mega-band featuring the talents Jackie Venson, The Peterson Brothers, Alesia Lani, Jon Keyz, Michael Gonzales and the D-Madness Project. The big show includes performances by Magna Carda, The Bishops, Sam Houston, The Vapor Caves, Jake Lloyd, and Zach Person. DJ’s Shani and Charles Mxxn won’t let the party stop, so best not to leave the dancing shoes at home.
Doors open at 8 p.m. They’re expecting full house, so get there early. Celebrating in style. Recommended.
