Austin Psych Fest returns for another three-day weekend of the coolest music in the psych vein and beyond, everything from heavy rock and experimental to shoegaze and cumbia.
It’s a perfect start to the fest today after doors open at 3 p.m., with performances by songwriter Jesse Sykes and Portland, OR psych/country/spaghetti western outfit Federale. This year’s headliners include Explosions In the Sky, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Darkside, Kim Gordon (“BYE-BYE” from The Collective is featured on today’s AMM), Dinosaur Jr., and Yo La Tengo. And reppin’ local: The Octopus Project, Holy Wave, Garrett T. Capps & NASA Country and more.
