The Austin Music Minute is supported by Howler Brothers, an Austin-based designer of creative outdoor apparel since 2011, and by Planet K, Austin’s local hemp emporium since 1990.
The revolutions will not be stopped. Ozomatli hits its thirty-year anniversary of music for the people.
At least once in your life, you need to experience the exhilaration of an Ozomatli second line-style march that winds its way through audiences and, quite gloriously, may venture outside of the venue and into the street. Instant joy in these inspired moments. This is not merely a band, but a collaborative institution that loudly and proudly makes music for the people, about the people.
Ozomatli celebrates 30 years of music, activism and community with their 30 Revolutions tour, and a new single, “Red Line”, described by the band as an amplification of America’s working class struggle, navigating life through a system holding them back.
KUTX’s Horizontes recently featured an interview with Ozomatli’s Raul Pacheco, which includes an excellent playlist of Ozomatli favorites. And tonight, Horizontes hosts Ozomatli’s show at Antone’s. Just ahead of 4DAWA Fest supporting DAWA, husband and wife duo Riders Against the Storm opens the show. DJ Mahealani curates vinyl magic for the occasion. Doors at 7 p.m.
