Away From the Castle

Walk away from it, then come on back. For Video Age, it’s the joy of working with your closest friends.

AMM April 2 2024

Video Age tomorrow night at The Ballroom, with Mind Shrine.

Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli go way back. For reals. As in, decades’ worth of making and playing music, songwriting, quality hangs, adventure times…the tale of two incredibly talented BFF’s. And this chemistry delivers the infectious pop radiating throughout Away From the Castle, Video Age‘s follow-up to the widely-praised Pleasure Line (2020).

Away is fueled by the energy of various collaborative efforts they took on, both separately and together, following their Pleasure Line tour. Then Farbe and Micarelli reunited with a cleansed palate and got back to work, creating their latest release with an alchemy of influences – pop, rock, funk, nostalgic vibes, all cool and sparkling.

Following their performance at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday April 3, in KUTX’s Studio 1A, Video Age plays a show tomorrow night at The Ballroom on Fruth St. Doors at 7 p.m., with Houston lofi pop rockers Mind Shrine opening the show.
