It really is a good musical match for a tour. Austin-based songwriters Joanna Barbera and Shane Cooley both have strong ties to folk, but neither are confined to a single genre – there is no mistaking the hints of rock, soul and a little bit of pop in their music. Barbera and Cooley will soon be on the road, doing a couple of shows in Dallas before to moving on to Nashville, Birmingham, AL, Ocean Springs, MS, and then on over to NOLA and Lafayette.
Be sure to see them at their tour kick-off show tonight at Holy Mountain, 617 E. 7th St., with a stellar line-up featuring Aisha Burns and Jason Anderson. Doors open at 8 p.m. Recommended.
