Big Ol’ Time

Who: Lock your doors. Hide your daughters. Better yet, it’s high time you joined the party. It’s your Austin Music Minute‘s favorite “trashgrass” string-pickin’ hoodlums, Whiskey Shivers, armed with tunes more fierce and frenzied than ever before on their latest self-titled release. The band is insane. The fans are crazier.

What: Our boys have spent quite a bit of time on the road (and some considerable time on TV), sharing their music with the masses, and rightly so. The world needs to know of their greatness. This month, though, we can be a little selfish and have them here at home for a special residency.

When: It kicks off tonight, and they’re mixing up the bill just right with electrifying electro/dance-pop furies Holiday Mountain and SIP SIP. Talk about frenzied. Try cross-genre chaos.

Where: Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. The music starts at 9 p.m.

Why: Full disclosure here – tonight’s show also happens to be Whiskey Shivers’ Good Music Club double-disc release show tonight. The band is releasing an EP/DVD set featuring tracks from their performances for The Good Music Club. which your humble AMM hostess curates. Gonna be a blast. Totally recommended.
