Time for new music by Otis the Destroyer. And yes, it does destroy.
Following two excellent releases from Otis Wilkins, “Belong to the Sea” and the Jake Lloyd collaboration “Bubble Shuffle,” both featured on KUTX, it was time for songwriter/vocalist Taylor Wilkins to switch gears into the beast known as Otis the Destroyer. Wilkins is deftly the leader of both, showing a penchant for groovier palettes with Otis Wilkins, while unleashing heavier shreds from Destroyer.
That heavier side burns white hot on Destroyer’s brand new single “Death by Pixies,” from the moment it opens with its mighty rumbling riffs to crash into a relentless tear. This one’s for blowing out your car speakers.
Celebrate the first single from Otis the Destroyer’s forthcoming LP at their release show tonight, Saturday May 4, on Mohawk‘s indoor stage, featuring performances by Hotel de Nova, and The Black Angels‘ Alex Maas. Doors at 8 p.m. Don’t forget that Helmet and Cro-Mags are doing some hardcore annihilating on the outdoor stage. It’s a very full night, music addict.
