The Austin Music Minute got word that power pop outfit Growl is taking a break – perhaps a long one – in the foreseeable future. No word on the length of time, but the band recently announced on Facebook that tonight’s show at Cheer Up Charlie’s is their “penultimate performance, at least for a long while.” Considering their debut full-length LP Won’t You is pretty damn awesome, the AMM remains hopeful that maybe, somewhere along the way, there might be some new music. Fingers crossed.
You won’t want to miss out. Growl, tonight, Cheer Up’s, 900 Red River. An excellent bill with Sherry and Robby. Growl starts the night out at 9 p.m. Very recommended.
