Selecting just one show to feature on the Austin Music Minute on any given day during Free Week is not an easy task. Therefore, your humble AMM host selects a handful for you to pick from. It’s all good – and nice and toasty warm indoors – for your live music listening pleasure. Check it:
The Mohawk, 912 Red River, comes alive tonight with flyin’ strings, folk sings, pop flings and wonderful things, thanks to the superb bill that features Wood & Wire, The Deer, Buck Meek (Big Thief) and Middlespoon.
Music lover, take note of the venue changes for these particular events; The Holy Knives, Otis the Destroyer, Megafauna, Hard Riffs and Rival Waves are all performing indoors at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St., while the line-up starring Whiskey Shivers, Sailor Poon, Booher, and Poly Action, originally set for Empire as well, has been moved to The Parish, 214 E. 6th St.
Raise Her Voice, a powerful music series featuring up-and-coming female artists at Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River, includes stripped-down sets by Trouble In the Streets (featured on today’s AMM), Fort Never, Allysa Grace, Upper Reality, Zoya Bukhari, and Shailaun Manning.
That’s right. It’s all tonight, as part of Free Week. So very recommended.
