You can rock an acoustic show. The Austin Music Minute has reminded you of this before. The proof? The Austin Steamers, a local quartet slinging some mighty solid original and traditional music on guitar, banjo, mandolin and stand-up bass. And remember, I’m always emphasizing those two key ingredients essential to their live shows: 1.) Finger-picking that often charts off into lightning speeds, and 2.) Plenty of vocal harmonies in those sweet melodies.
The Austin Steamers continue their residency at the Hole In the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe, with a show tonight. They have a couple of special guests on the bill that you need to check out: Real-deal country action from resident badass Robert Banta, and all the way from Seattle, country/folk outfit Zoe Muth & The Lost High Rollers. The music gets started at around 8 p.m. It’d do you good to soak all of this in. Recommended.
