Halloween Weekend

Not only does today’s Austin Music Minute recommend a handful of Halloween-themed shows, but a number of album release shows as well. So much is going on tonight and tomorrow night that it’ll send your head spinning like Linda Blair‘s. No tricks, all treats.

Tonight’s frights:

-They’ll show you no mercy. It’s Mr. Lewis and The Funeral Five Halloween Hoopla at the Whip In, 1950 IH-35.

-Some badass boys makin’ badass noise. Croy and The Boys have their album release party at Hotel Vegas, 1500 E. 6th St. Croy is a punk. Deal with it.

-Got your zombie moves ready? Which is basically one move, dragging your rotting carcass across the dance floor whilst making guttural sounds. In this case, it’ll be to “Jungle Love.” It’s Zombie Ball 2016 with Morris Day & The Time, and fabulous Houston band The Suffers, at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, 310 Willie Nelson Blvd.

Brownout‘s heavy-rock alter-ego Brown Sabbath presents their Vol. 2 album release show at the Historic Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th St. Get there early. It’s going to fill up pretty quickly.

-AMM faves East Cameron Folkcore is having their tour kickoff at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th, with The Eastern Sea, and Belcurve.

Tomorrow night:

UVH will kill it with their album release party at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th. (featured on today’s AMM and recently on the KUTX Song of the Day) This is one killer bill with Ringo Deathstarr, Crooked Bangs and Xetas.

-Hearts are breaking. It’s the So Long Farewell to Snack Bar party at Snack Bar on S. Congress. This line-up is gargantuan. Saint Clair, Beth // James, Kinky Machine, Buenos DiazCandler A. Wilkinson IV, BOOHER, and The Eric Bee send the longtime local fave off with a bang. The music starts right at noon.

Non-stop action. Here’s to a most spook-tacular time.
