Who: Denton-based dream pop band Pageantry literally spent all the time they could between tour dates, in 2014 and 2015, to work on their second album with producer/engineer Matt Pence at The Echo Lab and at home studios. They were still in the midst of promoting their debut EP, Friends of the Year, when they began recording their new songs, quite aware they were moving toward another direction musically. Influence reveals a transformation into a much fuller sound, striking a delicate balance of sweeping choruses and understated movement.
What: This absolutely calls for a big album release show, and with an extra-special line-up including Good Field, Lomelda, Houston band Birthday Club, and Borrisokane.
When and where: Celebrate with Pageantry tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River. Doors open at 8 p.m. Recommended.
