It’s as if the Austin Music Minute requested this night. Two AMM favorites on the same night, appealing to wide variety of tastes. The Spider House Ballroom, 2906 Fruth St., will present two major shows this evening that will blow your mind for different reasons:
– It’s klezmer gone wild! It’s a delectable series of mini-symphonies fearlessly fusing classical music with punk, polka and heavy metal in a wondrous carnival atmosphere sure to please. The Invincible Czars will perform the works of composers Graham Reynolds and Peter Stopschinski, starting at 9:30 p.m. Exceptional talent all around, and guaranteed fun.
– If she hasn’t gotten you hooked on the groove yet, she will tonight. Latasha Lee & The Black Ties headline the following show for a night of R&B, funk and soul. The bill includes funk-rockers Electric Attitude and hip-hop outfit Magna Carda. The music starts at 10:30 p.m.
This is a big night out, friends. Doors at the Ballroom open at 8:30 p.m. See all of the bands. You’ll thank me later. Very recommended.
