Manor May Day Festival at locations on Manor Rd.

Looking ahead to Saturday: Manor Road Coalition is hosting the Manor May Day Festival, a celebration of local history and local businesses connecting neighbors and guiding growth along Manor Rd. in East Austin.

Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without live music. Minor Mishap Marching Band, musicians from the Music Academy of Austin, and songwriter Ivy Roots all perform at The Vortex, along with Sky Candy Aerial Dance, with the music beginning at noon; Brazilian artist Paula Maya and Austin-based forró band Seu Jacinto are the featured artists at Batch, starting at 4 p.m.; and the day includes country line dancing lessons with Ed West (Neon Rainbows) and cumbia with ULOVEI at Howdy’s Vintage and The Long Goodbye; and a kid’s corner at Alamo Rec Center starting at 10 a.m.
