If you’re an Eastsider in our fair city who appreciates a nice hangout away from the nightlife fray, someplace where one can simply relax with a drink and be able to chat with friends, you’ll see why it’s easy to fall in love with The Grackle. Located at 1700 E. 6th, it’s the perfect spot to chill on the patio, or cozy up inside with a good jukebox. What you get is on the mark – adult beverages, laid back atmos, and a great staff lead by one Tim Murphy, whom you may recognize as one of the outstanding DJ’s from the Second Saturday Sock Hop soirees (your Austin Music Minute maven knows first hand Murphy’s taste in music is impeccable).
Today, The Grackle is officially five years old, so naturally, a celebration is in order. And what’s the perfect way to amp things up as the evening rolls round? Loud, rowdy rock ‘n’ roll, of course. Austin rock hoodlums The Golden Boys will tear things up at 10 p.m. tonight.
A very Happy Birthday to the bird turning 5, and here’s to The Golden Boys melting your face off. Recommended.
