So technically, your humble Austin Music Minute host is correct in saying that Magic Rockers of Texas is kind of a mind meld of talent, what with the collective talents of dudes from Berkshire Hounds, Rotten Mangoes, and Brown v. Board in the mix. That’s a lot of rock there. Just give a spin to their new EP, Rugged Braids, and soak in all the jet-fueled badass hooks. But the guys do have one other request: Please get the dang band name right. It’s not “Texas Rockers, or the Houston Rock Boys, or the Dallas Buyers Club, or whatever other things we’ve been called on show marquees.”
Just look at the family photo on this post. Can you resist those faces? Of course not! Check out Magic Rockers of Texas at their EP release show tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River. And it truly is a family affair with a massive bill starring their friends Booher, MCG, Toma, Major Major Major, and Marmalakes. The music kicks off at 9 p.m. Get there early so you don’t miss a thing. Recommended.
