Original East Side

For a lot of Eastside Austinites, knowing that Conjunto Los Pinkys are at the White Horse on Sundays is something taken for granted. It’s even a touchstone. That’s the way to do Sunday. Roll outta bed late, get your brunch on with the Bomb Tacos food truck just outside the East Austin honky-tonk, then get your conjunto fix like a mofo.

Keep in mind there’s a lot more Los Pinkys history beneath the surface, going back to the Bay Area when they were a street band. After moving to the ATX in 1993, founder Bradley Jaye Williams reformed Los Pinkys with Isidro Samilpa, after meeting him at La Esquina at East 6th and Comal. Since then, the band’s covered a lot of ground in more than two decades, playing all the venues, weddings, church bazaars, big music festivals and badass cantinas across Texas and beyond.

This is the year Los Pinkys celebrate their 25th anniversary, and of course, they’re doing so in grand fashion. Celebrate with them tonight at Antone’s, as part of a very special bill featuring six-time Grammy Award-winning artist Flaco Jimenez, and Los Texmaniacs founder Max Baca

This, music lover, is the real deal. Very recommended.
