One of the cool things about Pennyfest 2015, aside from all the ridiculously great musical talent you have the opportunity to experience in one night, is the connection to places beyond the Live Music Capital. Pennyfest coordinators Rob Pascolo and Sharna Haine, who run Penny Loafer PR with New Orleans-based partner Dwayne Banks, are originally from Australia. Both bring a lot of experience in promoting local music, and a big love of music in general, and they’re beyond thrilled to be sharing music from Austin worldwide as well.
There’s a lot to check out at Pennyfest 2015, tonight at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the music kicks off with Jack Ferrara, followed by Kevin Peroni of Wiretree doing a solo set, Scott Collins performing with Laura Poyzer, Ghostbunny, Hunter Sharpe, The Dirty Heat, Yuma, Messages, That Girl Dre, Residual Kid, BUHU, The Rocketboys and headliner Purple (featured on today’s Austin Music Minute).
