Daisy O’Connor recently recorded quite an awesome episode of My KUTX as a guest DJ this month, running the gamut from Newsboys‘ “Love Liberty Disco” to Anais Mitchell‘s “You Are Forgiven,” with Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams in between, and certainly enough time to put in “Origin of Love” to sing along to at the top of one’s lungs right along with Hedwig and The Angry Inch. O’Connor also counts among her inspirations David Bowie, the various realms of folk music, and all the endless worlds to explore made possible by burying oneself in the wealth of literary treasures at the local public library.
O’Connor is thrilled to be returning to the Cactus Cafe for a show tonight with her band. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the music starts at 8:30 p.m. This is the ray of light you’ve heard the Austin Music Minute rave about. Very recommended!
