Rock ‘N’ Hi-Jive

Joshua Black Wilkins

After moving from New York to Nashville in 2014, vocalist Dawna Zahn and guitarist Austin John started their Ameripolitan Music Award-winning band The Hi-Jivers, inspired by their favorite ‘50s and ‘60s rock and blues artists. Along with upright bass player Hank Miles (who makes Austin, TX his home these days) and drummers like Aaron Mlasko, Tony DeCurtis and Jason Smay, their gritty rock vibe got some major traction and led to several shows and festivals across the country and around the globe.

The next stop for the Hi-Jivers is in Austin for a show tonight, Monday Aug. 14, at The Continental Club at 10 p.m., following Eve Monsees and Mike Buck‘s early set at 6:30 p.m.
