Songs In the Key of Us: Black Music Month at Antone’s continues this weekend with the next part of the music series, Songs In the Key of Funk, led by the greatest of the great funk legends, self-taught guitarist and founding member of The Meters, Leo Nocentelli. The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winning artist made eight albums with his band, recorded an incredible solo album Another Side (released by Light In the Attic in 2021), and was a session and touring artist throughout his career, working with Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, Etta James, Albert King and many others.
Nocentelli celebrates his birthday at the show, featuring performances by Austin artists THEBROSFRESH and Alesia Lani, this Saturday night at Antone’s. Doors at 8 p.m.
