Passiflora delivers a sultry hybrid of R&B, rock and jazz. And a new single is on the way.
It’s a cross pollination of genres that Austin-based trio Passiflora experiments with, a hybrid of pop, R&B and various jazz elements to create their polyrhythmic neo-soul flow. And for their debut EP Eponymous, vocalist Lauren Harris, drummer Raul Luevano and Rudy Durham were joined by The Point bassist Jack Montesinos for extra layers of sultry, ultra-cool vibes.
Eponymous opener “West Side” is today’s featured AMM track. A new Passiflora single is in the works, and the band’s prepping for their Bands In Bloom! summer music series performance at Zilker Bontanical Garden on June 21. But there’s a show coming up sooner, Wednesday June 5, at the Far Out Lounge and Stage. The line-up features six-piece funk outfit Foxglove, songwriter Seth Celdrán, and Buttonfly. Doors at 7 p.m.
