Venomous Heat

Audrey Campbell is not to be trifled with. The Pleasure Venom punk-goddess front woman is driven by the passion, empathy and artistry of a multi-talented creative who will never back down. She is equal parts songwriter, vocalist, visual artist (Campbell directs her band’s searing music videos), and actor (keep your eyes peeled for Ryan Darbonne‘s short film I AM TX). Essential elements: Seize the moment, hold no punches, and raise yourself higher to build the world you want. Pleasure Venom is the amplifier keeping the roar loud, as well as the outlet that unleashes frustrations – and, if need be, calls out the fools.

Tonight, the band celebrates the release of their electrifying new self-titled unhinged punk/funk EP, co-produced by Elliot Frazier (Ringo Deathstarr), featuring art design with pieces “Calm” and “Rage” by Austin-based artist Dawn Okoro. You can get your own cassette copy of the EP at their release show this evening at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th St. Ringo Deathstarr’s playing the party, along with Teenage Cavegirl and Hotmom. Doors at 8:30 p.m., and it’s an all-ages show.

So very recommended.
