Wicked Cool

Halloween seems to have come and gone in a flash, but there are a number of Dia de Los Muertos celebrations continuing the spooky revelry this weekend. The Austin Music Minute recommends this particular show for a wicked good time, featuring three longtime local faves who’ll gleefully take you to the dark side:

– I suggest you brace yourself for one hell of a ride. Mr. Lewis & The Funeral 5 doesn’t mess around. Empty whiskey bottles litter the path, darkness surrounds you, and there’s no turning back.

– Got your skull-crushers right here, baby. Midwest Monster creeps up on you when you least expect it, and tears you apart with some devious rockabilly deliciousness. Kitty Korvette, you rawk, girl.

– Ladies and gentlemen, make way for the house band in hell. The Flametrick Subs unleash the beast, with special accompaniment by Satan’s Cheerleaders. And the flames are gettin’ higher.

You can see all three bands perform tonight at The White Horse, 500 Comal. Mr. Lewis goes on first at around 9:30 p.m. So recommended. Enjoy your lovely waltz with the dead, my friends.
