Bastrop native, hip-hop artist and producer Deezie Brown describes his style as a “blue collar” hybrid of southern hip-hop and funk, in both his solo efforts and as one half of Geto Gala with collaborative partner Jake Lloyd.
Perhaps you were one of the lucky ones to catch Brown’s fiery set at ACL Fest this year, but if not, get ready. KUTX is presenting a musical residency with Brown, The Wire Wheel Opera, every Thursday through December at C-Boy’s Heart and Soul, 2008 S. Congress Ave. Each show will feature a special guest on the bill; this week, it’s Atlanta-based songwriter Angel White.
