A Giant Dog likes its music fast, loud, and theatrical. The Austin band’s legendary live show is a punk rock baptism: beers will fly, guitars get thrown around, but through it all, co-vocalists Sabrina Ellis and Andrew Cashen continue to deliver brilliant pop hooks. In a crowded local punk scene, A Giant Dog’s sweet sound–a little bit of X, some power-pop, and a whole lot of glam-rock drama–separates them from the rest of the pack. Fresh off a tour with Spoon, Ellis and Cashen played guest DJ for KUTX, bringing their eclectic picks and a little bit of comedy to the hour. You can catch their other band Sweet Spirit at the ABGB on Saturday night, but first, join A Giant Dog on their My KUTX adventure Saturday at 6 p.m. or anytime in the player below!
