My KUTX: Abhi The Nomad

Abhi The Nomad (rebroadcast)

My KUTX // May 28, 2022

Here’s how the “nomad” part of Abhi The Nomad’s name stuck: born in Madras, India, the son of a diplomat, he lived in China, California, France, and Fiji before winding up in Austin. Putting down local roots, the MC has become one of our city’s breakout artists, mixing hip hop with pop hooks and rock energy.

On Sunday, May 29, Abhi plays Empire Garage as part of Austin Live Music Revival, a multi-day concert that celebrates our scene with over twenty performances. We’re celebrating with a rebroadcast of Abhi’s 2019 guest DJ set. He plays an hour of his favorite music, digging into Beck’s absurdity, Queens Of The Stone Age’s riffs, Black Star’s storytelling, and more. Hear Abhi The Nomad’s My KUTX on Saturday, May 28 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime in the player above.
