***My KUTX is made possible with support from imogene + willie***
Here in Austin the grackle is a big part of our collective city identity. But for a few years there was another bird in town that we took a lot of pride in calling one of our own. And no we’re not using “bird” in the antiquated English slang sense of the word.
We’re referring instead to singer-songwriter Jade Bird, who shared her third full-length Who Wants to Talk About Love? back in mid-July. And in the midst of touring that new material (which includes a KUTX-presented free performance next Wednesday, October 15th at Central Machine Works) Jade brought her joyous, contagious energy to the KUTX control room with some of her recent and all-time favorite tunes in tow.
