My KUTX: Luna Luna

Luna Luna

My KUTX // November 12, 2022

Luna Luna formed in Dallas, but since moving to Austin last year, the young band has already firmly planted itself in the scene. TikTok virality and a slot at this year’s ACL Fest has raised Luna Luna’s profile considerably, just in time for the release of the band’s new single “Talk Too Much.” It’s a swirl of bright synths and nostalgic funk, sung in both Spanish and English as a nod to the members’ various Latinx roots.

This week on My KUTX, vocalist and keyboardist Kevin “Kavvi” González and bassist Ryan “Gordo” Gordon are the guest DJs. They tour us through Luna Luna’s disparate influences and interests, from retro soul and funk to a Brazilian pop deep cut discovered through a fashion show soundtrack. Hear Luna Luna’s My KUTX on Saturday, November 12 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime in the player above.
