My KUTX: My Jerusalem’s Jeff Klein

My Jerusalem is the KUTX Artist of the Month for July. Photo by Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon/KUTX

My Jerusalem formed in New Orleans but moved to Austin a few years ago, but the funny thing is, they don’t really sound like either of these cities. There’s something distinctly British and dark about their music, gothic and romantic in equal measure.

Fittingly, singer and guitarist Jeff Klein plays a lot of dark, British music as our guest DJ this week on My KUTX. He talks about how artists like David Bowie and the Cure influenced My Jerusalem’s new album, A Little Death, alongside ’60s soul singers like Ray Charles and Jan Bradley. Tune in on Saturday, July 16 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
