There’s a reason we keep inviting Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso back as our guest DJs. First, we love their music, from their 2014 breakout “Coffee” to “Sunburn,” the electro banger from last year’s No Rules Sandy. But they’re also legitimately great guest DJs. They dig deep for wonderful music, open up about the influence of artists as varied as Broken Social Scene and D’Angelo, and they banter, hilariously.
This episode is no exception. In town for a pair of shows at Stubb’s, Amelia and Nick sat down for their third guest DJ set–yes, it’s between 2 and 10 times, guys–and shared South American dance tracks, new music from Hand Habits, and forgot about the words they can’t say on air. Hear Sylvan Esso’s My KUTX on Saturday, September 16 at 6 p.m. or anytime right here.
