Art Levy’s Top Tracks of 2017

Art Levy is our music host 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. These are his top 5 songs of the year:

1) Broken Social Scene – Hug Of Thunder (ft. Feist)

A strange, moving song about rising above all of life’s numbness, delivered with a chorus that’ll blow your hair back.

2) Juana Molina – Cosoco

Avant-garde electronic music, but with a twist: it’s fun.

3) Art Feynman – Feeling Good About Feeling Good

This side project from Luke Temple (Here We Go Magic) sounds like an Americanized version of Fela Kuti, with a sneaky-great message: “feeling good about feeling good / it’s no way to keep feeling good.”

4) Jidenna – Bambi

Sounds like a nursery rhyme set to a rattling hip-hop beat. In other words, insanely catchy.

5) Rainer Maria – Lower Worlds

Sounds like a punk band with Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham as its drummer. In other words, kickass.
