As we look towards the 250th birthday of the United States, we’re celebrating with the Texas 250: The Lone Star State’s contribution to the nation’s music, and we need your help!
We’re looking for 250 quintessential Texas songs to play for our Texas-themed July 4th party, starting July 3rd and running through July 4th on KUTX.
Using the form below, pick your five favorite songs from, by and about Texas. That means songs from native royalty like Willie Nelson, adopted sons like Jerry Jeff Walker, or anthems like “Deep in the Heart Of Texas” written by a couple of Midwesterners. Even Alabama’s “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)” is fair game.
