SXSW 2022: Ones To Watch

All this week, KUTX profiles the Ones To Watch: seven must-see artists at SXSW 2022. Hosted by Jody Denberg // produced by Art Levy.

The Isle Of Wight, UK duo Wet Leg quickly embedded itself into music lovers’ consciousness with last year’s quirky, delicious (but accessible) single “Chaise Longue.”  Named after random emojis, Wet Leg soon had Iggy Pop and Rolling Stone magazine singing their praises. The duo told Mojo magazine, “if we can inspire girls to pick up a guitar that’d be amazing. It’s so much fun.”

Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers are Wet Leg, and they’re augmented by a band when playing live. They had a pretty simple reason for forming Wet Leg: “let’s just do a band for fun so we can go to festivals and get free wristbands.” Well, their dreams are just beginning to come true.

Catch Wet Leg on Friday afternoon, March 18, broadcasting live on KUTX from the Public Radio Day Stage.
