Singer-songwriter Amy Speace has been generating her share of buzz in the world Americana/folk music for a while now. She’s earned her share of fans and supporters, including songwriting greats Judy Collins, Nanci Griffith, and Guy Clark, among others. But if you ask her, she’ll tell you that she considers herself a late bloomer to songwriting. After college, Speace moved to New York City to pursue a career in theater. She studied acting with the National Shakespeare Conservatory, and toured with the National Shakespeare Company. On a whim, she purchased a guitar and started songwriting, and the rest, to use a cliche, was history.
Today, Amy Speace came into Studio 1a to record a live session with exclusively for KUTX. The result of that session is posted below! You can give it a listen right now!
