Caroline Rose is a bit of a musical chameleon. Even though we’re pretty sure she has worn the same red tracksuit the past few times we’ve met, her two full length albums appear to come from opposite ends of the musical spectrum. Her first, I Will Not Be Afraid, is a rockabilly affair while her latest, Loner, leans pop punk. Those may sound like night and day but a closer listen reveals shared sneer, snark, and sarcasm in both works. Regardless of genre, her songwriting is unnervingly perceptive and undeniably funny all at once. Hear why Caroline Rose is a KUTX favorite with her recent visit to Studio 1A in the player at the bottom of the post.
